Teeth Grinding, Facial Slimming and Migraines
Teeth grinding (or Bruxism), can be an uncomfortable condition for the patient, whereby they suffer from an unconscious clenching of the teeth, most commonly when sleeping, although less frequent, it can occur when awake.
It may cause additional issues such as headaches, facial sensitivity and even earache. The patient may also notice they are not able to enjoy quality sleep, and their overall wellness can be affected. In extreme cases, widening of the jaw may occur from the overstimulation of the muscles in this area.
Botulinum Toxin injections used to effectively target specific muscles, relaxing the muscle to temporarily prohibit grinding and or clenching of the teeth and jaw, which remain effective whilst sleeping so the patient can benefit from improved wellness, reduction of migraines and also in those patients with extreme para function some facial slimming.
